1. Crescent Moon

Crescent moon on Lord Shiva's head symbolize that his control over time, since the lord is eternal reality. He is the beginning and end of things in the universe.

2. Ganga

Ganga symbolize the wisdom and knowledge.

3. Ashes 

Symbol indicating the permanence of the immortal soul, after is destroyed or burnt.

4. Third Eye

Shiva has a third eye which opens only to kill or cause destruction. Shiva is said to have burnt Kama, the lord of desire to ashes, with his third eye.

5. Snake

Snake around Lord Shiva's neck represents his alertness, calmness, self-contained and peace.

6. Trishul

Trishul symbolize of the unity of three worlds that a human faces - his inside world, his immediate world, and the broader overall world.

7. Blue Throat

Signifies the control over negative thoughts to achieve.

8. Damaru

Damaru represents an endless process of universe that the universe is expanding and collapsing. From where it is expands, there it collapses.

9. Nandi

Nandi symbolize the eternal waiting with full of alertness.
